They had planned to have another form before now. Of course, they're coming to understand that plans don't always go the way you expect, even if they've ended better than anticipated.

They had stayed with him in the apartment until the time came to return the body to its original owner. Even if they did put it off for a day or so, they knew not to push their luck and really did want to leave the person with no issues when they returned control.

Still, before they did, they picked up a collection of sweets and left it for the person to find when they were properly conscious again. It seemed polite.

They find another body quickly and decide that this time they're going to go through with their plan of finding something of their own before the time comes to give this one back. It's going to make things easier in the long run, and they'll be able to have exactly what they want.

For now, though, they walk through the door of the apartment in a small, lean body. One that seems like it would be both swift and able to get through all kinds of hard-to-reach places. They might go for something like this when they select their permanent form, but they're not entirely sure, so they're taking the chance to try it out. At the very least, they know this body will be able to pose a challenge for their companion if the two of them choose to go on a chase before they find a form of their own.

“I think this will do for now,” they say without preamble. “Though we need to find something more permanent before this one needs to be brought back. I'd prefer to not have to borrow a third body. Hopefully, we can manage that if we're less distracted.”

After they had left on their errands, errands is the best term he can think of, he had gotten himself dressed and sat down at the kitchen table with his tablet. "And what are your plans if anyone contacts you back? Once I know those two things, I can figure out what else you can do to help." They can keep an eye on the tech with no issues, but knowing what he's thinking is another matter entirely.

"I'm not sure how I feel yet." It is an honest answer. The more subtle emotions wrapped up in one past or another take him more time to figure out. "If anyone gets back to me right away about work I'll talk to you about it first, but probably not take another job right now."

They nod. "If you feel like doing so, let me know when those feelings start forming. I may not be able to offer you much, but I am willing to sit with you as you have them." They reach out to him, their fingers brushing his wrist before they continue. "As for what you can do for me, I've found a few potential sources where I can acquire a suitable body, but I may need you to come with me. While I'm capable of disengaging any monitors that may come up, I'm not confident on what I can handle if a human thread appears. I feel like you might be more suitable for that job. Would you mind that?"

He nods in response to their offer to be with them when his feelings settle into something. It is the sort of kindness he would barely expect from a being of organic origins so to him is is a little funny that they are better at it.

"I am capable and happy to provide you that. Wherever you need me, I'll be there."

They very much are still learning how things should be done, and a lot of what they know has been taken from the information they gathered, but there is a part of them that has been developing ever since they woke up as well. Something that feels alive in a way that had never been something they could have attained until meeting him. It allows them to take the information they've gathered and apply it in ways they think would have been impossible for them until now. It's fascinating really.

"Excellent," they say. "I can send more information to your tablet so you can get a look at the location and layout and we can proceed from there. We have a few days before something absolutely must be done though."

"Yes, please. I'll do some looking in person as well before we decide to do this." Setting the tablet down he pushes his chair back and gestures for them to come to him. "I haven't given you a proper welcome back home."

"Alright," they say, and a moment later, the tablet pings at him.

At his words, they give him a curious look, but get to their feet and join him. "What does that entail?" They sound genuinely interested when they ask.

"It involves this," he says pulling them to him and kissing them, "and telling you 'welcome home.'"

They nod and rest their hands on his waist before leaning up to kiss him again. "That seems pleasant enough." They kiss him again, then add, "It's good to be done with errands. I prefer you to anyone else I've run into so far."

"You have been the only thing I'm interested in," they say with a smile. "There are a few things that are on the edge of my focus, but you've been the most worthwhile to explore so far."

"Right now? I was going to shower as a chance to get a feel for this body. Then I have no plans. You're welcome to join me though." They give him a curious look as they say so, but will not mind if he chooses not to join them.

They wear an amused look, then lean up to kiss him. "It will be nice to have you with me," they say as they pull away and start toward the bathroom. "I did enjoy it before."

They get out of their clothes and toss them aside before getting the water going. Their skin is warm and they opted for a body with a cock again since they did enjoy it the first time.
